Since we told you about the rehabilitation project of the Valeriola Palace, the ERRE team has not stopped working on this exciting challenge. However, today we would like to make a pause to present you a virtual tour of the interior of what will be the future Hortensia Herrero Art Center. A new reference place for contemporary art in the city of Valencia.
In this virtual visit you can access through the main entrance of the building, located on Calle del Mar, and visit the rooms on the main floor, the “andana” space, the carved stone staircase or the interior courtyard, which will maintain its structure and heritage elements . The tour ends in what will be the future garden of the Art Center.
The video shows how the most important architectural intervention is focused on the volume of the Valeriola Palace, where the pieces around the courtyard will be preserved and rebuilt. The San Cristóbal building it will maintain just its façade and will be built four floors with the aim of achieving an orderly and more integrated set with the neighbourhood buildings.
Moreover, the Art Center has released a new website where the keys of the cultural project are uncovered, gathering images of the works of renovation and expansion of the Valeriola Palace and showing a selection of works by artists from the collection, such as Anish Kapoor, Georg Baselitz, Andreas Gursky or Anselm Kiefer.
The Valeriola Palace is a noble baroque style building built in the s XVII at Calle del Mar in Valencia. This axis is one of the culturally richest part of the city. Where one can even find rests of the ancient Roman Circus or the old Jewish quarter.
