The project was commissioned by Valencian entrepreneur Francisco Martínez, owner of the hotel, and is managed by ACHM Hotels by Marriott—a leading hotel management company in Southern Europe, chaired by Antonio Catalán and his team of experts.
The iconic building, originally constructed in 1925, features an architectural language inspired by the Chicago School. ERRE’s intervention respects the historical character of the property while adapting it to its new hotel use through a comprehensive restoration process. The hotel’s name pays tribute to the building’s hundred-year history, reinforcing its connection to the past and its architectural legacy. The interior design, defined by the Art Deco style, combines a carefully curated selection of noble materials, custom-designed furniture, and an atmosphere marked by sophistication. Sustainability is a key pillar of the design, strategically conceived to meet the criteria of BREEAM certification in sustainable construction.
The hotel’s seven floors and 53 exclusive rooms impress with their high ceilings, original wooden carpentry, and carefully restored metalwork. The bathrooms feature a beautiful Figure Shell Light natural stone mosaic by Porcelanosa, notable for its shell-shaped pattern, which is also reflected in the design of the lattice screens framing the washbasin area.
The heart of the hotel is its ground-floor lobby, conceived as a dynamic space that transforms throughout the day to accommodate different uses and atmospheres. In the morning, it offers a calm and bright setting, ideal for breakfast and informal meetings. As the day progresses, it becomes a stage where live music takes center stage, thanks to the grand piano positioned on the central podium.
