OCN HEADQUARTERS

A flexible workplace adapted to the company’s present and future needs.

Client

With a track record spanning more than two decades, OCN has established itself as a construction company in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, specialising in the hotel, corporate and residential sectors.

STRATEGY

The project designed for OCN’s new headquarters in Castellón transforms an industrial warehouse into a dynamic, versatile workplace filled with natural light. Following our Workplace ERRE methodology, based on an activity-based office model, the 1,250 m² have been organised across two flexible, comfortable floors with integrated technology, designed to optimise the work experience.

The ground floor, with a more public character, is conceived as a large multifunctional space, prepared to accommodate different uses simultaneously: corporate meetings, presentations and celebrations. Large meeting and dining tables, together with a bar area, encourage interaction and conversation. A boardroom is strategically located next to the materials library, providing immediate access to materials during meetings and enabling inspiration and decision-making within the same space.

The second floor accommodates the workstations in an open and flexible environment, promoting a cross-disciplinary and collaborative working model. With the aim of improving productivity, the space is equipped with focus booths and meeting rooms of different sizes, with high chairs designed for shorter meetings and low chairs for longer sessions. The timber panelling that wraps the spaces brings warmth, while the glazed partitions facilitate visual communication. At the same time, carpeted floors improve acoustic comfort.

Jose Martí, Amparo Roig and M. Ángeles Ros, architect partners at ERRE, state: “OCN was not simply looking for a new headquarters, but for a workplace that would express the company’s growth. For this reason, we envisioned a spatial configuration capable of breaking down traditional barriers and activating a new way of working: more interconnected and productive, able to generate a sense of community.”

SOLUTION

The floor slabs preserve the industrial character, leaving all building services exposed in an orderly manner. The carefully distributed lighting combines spotlights in meeting rooms with suspended or furniture-integrated luminaires to highlight the bespoke design. Among the material details, the deep blue glazed ceramic and the decorative panel from the Tessel collection, designed by ERRE using recycled material, stand out as they wrap the main staircase. Storage is discreetly integrated into the partitions, turning them into functional elements defined by rounded contours that reinforce spatial continuity.

The project proposes a flexible environment, capable of adapting to the company’s present and future needs. More than a corporate headquarters, the space is understood as a tool at the service of people: a comfortable, versatile and stimulating place where every design decision contributes to fostering collaboration, reinforcing the company’s identity and encouraging new forms of interaction between teams.
