THE KING AND QUEEN OF SPAIN VISIT “THE TRANSFORMATION OF VALENCIA 1866–2026”, WITH THE ROIG ARENA AS A LANDMARK
- Events
The Roig Arena becomes part of Valencia’s urban narrative as one of the 30 landmarks selected for the exhibition “The Transformation of Valencia 1866–2026”, organised by Las Provincias to mark its 160th anniversary.
Valencia, 15 January 2025 – Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia visited yesterday the exhibition hosted at the Centre del Carme, which brings together 30 key events that have shaped Valencian and Spanish history since 1866. Drawing on stories published in the newspaper’s pages, the exhibition offers a journey through the city’s evolution up to 2026. Each milestone is illustrated by a renowned artist (such as illustrator Felip Ariza, author of the Roig Arena artwork) and is accompanied by the original articles and front pages that defined the news at different moments in time.
In this context, Las Provincias speaks with our partners Amparo Roig and Jose Martí to explore the vision, key design decisions, and broader impact of the Roig Arena project on the city of Valencia.. The full interview can be accessed via the link.
