VALERIOLA PALACE DECLARED THE WINNER
We are thrilled to announce that the Hortensia Herrero Art Center has won the National Geographic +Historia Awards in the category of ‘Best Historic Building Restoration.’
These awards recognize a unique project aimed at recovering the architectural heritage of Valencia, bringing contemporary national and international art closer to society.
The intervention establishes a natural continuity between the old and the new, seamlessly integrating with what was already built, as yet another episode in the building’s history. During the restoration process, the building’s heritage value has been preserved, respecting the historical memory of all its iconic spaces: the chapel, the attic, the noble hall, the Arab courtyard, the street of the old Jewish quarter, and the façade, which has been restored to its original state from the early 19th century renovation.
The +Historia Readers’ Awards, created by National Geographic Historia magazine and supported by the Córdoba City Council, aim to recognize the efforts of various entities in promoting and spreading culture and history.
