ERRE COMPLETES THE DESIGN OF THE GRAND HOTEL CENTENARI VALENCIA
- Projects

In the heart of the city of Valencia, the architecture studio ERRE has completed the full renovation and interior design of the Grand Hotel Centenari Valencia, the new hotel by ACHM Hotels by Marriott.
Located in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the iconic original building from 1925 showcases an architectural language inspired by the Chicago School. The intervention respects the historic character of the building while adapting it to its new hotel use.
“At ERRE, we approached this project with the responsibility that comes with intervening in a building of great heritage value, located in the very heart of Valencia. Our commitment was to find a balance between what the building once was and what it needed to become: respecting its history, while also adapting it to the demands of a five-star hotel capable of offering an exclusive experience to its guests,” explain Jose Martí, Amparo Roig, and M. Ángeles Ros, partner architects at ERRE.
The interior design, defined by the Art Deco style, features a carefully curated selection of noble materials, custom-designed furniture, and an atmosphere marked by sophistication. Sustainability is a central pillar of the design, which was strategically conceived to meet the criteria of BREEAM certification in sustainable construction.
The hotel’s name pays tribute to the building’s one hundred years of history, reinforcing its connection to the past and its architectural legacy. Its seven floors and 53 exclusive rooms are notable for their high ceilings, as well as original wooden joinery and meticulously restored wrought ironwork.
The project was commissioned by Valencian entrepreneur Francisco Martínez, the hotel’s owner, and has been developed by ACHM Hotels by Marriott, a leading hotel management company in Southern Europe, chaired by Antonio Catalán. With its five-star rating, the establishment is part of an exclusive collection of high-end boutique hotels located in the world’s most exceptional destinations.
