THE ROIG ARENA BEGINS A PIVOTAL YEAR IN ITS CONSTRUCTION

The first month of 2024 comes to an end, a pivotal year for the Roig Arena project, which, after the milestone of erecting the 8 trusses that will support the roof, continues to progress towards becoming a world-class multi-purpose covered venue.

Currently, work is ongoing on the roof of the venue, which will host many of the facilities necessary to provide a unique experience to attendees and spectators of the various events scheduled to take place 365 days a year.

The ERRE architecture team has had the opportunity to ascend to the walkways that traverse the trusses, located at an approximate height of about 30 meters above the main arena, and the sensations are incredible.

THE OUTDOOR SPACES WILL MAKE THE ROIG ARENA A UNIQUE PROJECT

Additionally, work is currently underway on the construction and implementation of the outdoor terraces. It’s a laborious and complex process that, through a post-tensioning system, will create a concrete structure reaching up to 25 meters high.

These spaces, besides fostering and enhancing the connection with the city, will make the Roig Arena one of the few venues in the world where visitors can enjoy the outdoor temperature and climate, in this case, provided by the city of Valencia.

Lastly, the construction of the structure to support the facade of the venue is beginning. This ceramic skin’s execution and progress will be updated on our website and social media throughout this year.

A CITY PROJECT

With an investment of 280 million euros, the Roig Arena project will occupy a total constructed area of approximately 47,000 square meters and will have a maximum capacity of 15,600 spectators in basketball mode and 18,600 in concert mode.

This project, a personal initiative of Juan Roig and the result of public-private collaboration, will become a world-class multipurpose venue hosting sports, cultural, entertainment, and corporate events in the city of Valencia.

Additionally, the project includes the construction of complementary infrastructures to invigorate the neighborhood and facilitate its operation. In this sense, the Roig Arena will rely on two parking facilities totaling over 1200 spaces and will feature a public park of around 20,000 square meters of green areas serving as a bridge between the Roig Arena and the multi-story parking.
